Statements by Our Candidates in the 2005 ElectionsEamonn McCann, SEA candidate for Foyle and for Waterside RuralAll parties should deliver for Derry and stand by postal workersMonday, April 25th 2005 Socialist Environmental Alliance candidate for Foyle, Eamonn McCann, has called on all the political parties to stand with the postal workers and "deliver for Derry". Mr. McCann, has insisted to Royal Mail that he does not want his election literature delivered by "non-union, cut-price" workers. Now, he says, the dispute can be quickly resolved and the discrimination against Derry postal workers ended if other political parties stand by the Derry workers. "The pressure this would put on Royal Mail would force management to sort this out immediately", he said. "All these parties are forever complaining about Derry being treated unfairly. Well, now it's time to deliver for Derry".
