Make water charges postponement permanent

The promise by Peter Hain to postpone water charges for a year if an Executive is formed is a total vindication of the non-payment campaign.
The parties which urged people to pay up should now undertake to ensure that every penny paid by people who followed their advice is paid back.
There is now no case at all for anybody paying The case for continuing and strengthening the non-payment campaign is conclusive.
We have the water privatisers on the run. Now is the time for us to press home our advantage.
Hain and New Labour will see a postponment as a way of luring us into paying eventually. We should let him know that it is a staging post on the way to the permanent withdrawal of charges and privatisation. Commuinities Against the Water Tax has grown rapidly over the past few months. We will continue to build our support and ensure that water charges are gone not for a year but for good.
