S. E. A. StatementsBus to Rossport Five demo in Dublin Sat 1st OctoberThursday 27th September 2005 There has been tremendous solidarity for the Rossport Five across Derry, with virtually weekly fundraisers in Sandinos and frequent blockades of Shell and Statoil facilities on both sides of the border locally. This coming Saturday, there is a march and rally in Dublin in support of the unjustly imprisoned men - who are now almost three months in prison. The families - and the Shell to Sea campaign - see the march as particularly important in sending a message to Shell and the Southern government that people must come before profit. A bus has been organised to go to the demo. It's leaving from the bus stop beside the Guildhall at 9.00am on Sat morning - so we should get to Dublin on time to have a cuppa before the march leaves. Then it is leaving Dublin again at about 5pm to get back to Derry for about 9.30. We are trying to make the bus as cheap as possible for those on low incomes and are suggesting £15/£20 for waged (depends on how much you can afford) and £5 for unwaged. It's a 24 seater so will be quite comfortable, but as it is small, we will need to know who is coming and half the seats are already full - so you need to let myself or Bridget Meehan know if you are coming. Our emails are: GorettiH at aol dot com and ba dot meehan at ulster dot ac dot uk - spell it like you read it.
